This month we have been placing some attention on children and how we play a part in helping them understand and step outside outdated gender identifiers. We were lucky enough this March to work with an amazing school in Bristol who just became the second only primary school in the UK to earn the Stonewall Gold Award for their amazing dedication to equality and diversity. WELL DONE St Keyna Primary School
We were happy to support their wonderful Free2BeMe week and have the opportunity to judge their tee-shirt competition. It was such a tricky job but at the end of the day we couldn’t resist this colourful design by Jacob, in Key Stage 1 who was the overall winner and received one of our ‘Just Me’ tees for his efforts. Keep your eyes peeled for a ‘Just Bee’ tee coming soon!
March has also seen us collaborating closely with the amazing Brighton based Truth&Tails who are quite literally amazing. Their books aimed at primary aged children, aim to use storytelling to eliminate prejudice and encourage acceptance. We are working together to ensure that when your child falls in love with one of the lovely characters in their books they will be able to take them with them on a Tee. Watch this space!
